“Michael’s Day” Walkathon: May 13, 2008
Fourth grade boys at Quaker Ridge Elementary School organized “Michael’s Day,” the first fundraiser for the Foundation, in remembrance of their friend. The “Michael’s Day” walkathon coincided with Michael’s birthday and included children from all grades many of whom received pledges for the walk around school grounds. In the afternoon all of the fourth graders were treated to pizza, and outdoor games—a fun time for all!
